Adaptive State Sharding

What is Adaptive State Sharding?

A technique for sharing data among several machines is sharding. As a scaling strategy, it may be used by blockchain networks to divide up the processing of states and transactions so that each node only needs to handle a portion of the total number of transactions. Additionally, sharding enables the processing of transactions in parallel.

Splitting a blockchain into shards would enable it to process far more transactions through parallelization, considerably enhancing transaction throughput and efficiency, as long as there are enough nodes confirming each transaction, maintaining high dependability and security.

Additionally, sharding promises to boost the network’s performance as it increases and the number of validators rises, a feature known as horizontal scalability.
